Connectivity

Stay connected

All students are provided with important contact information (addresses and phone numbers) for local authorities as well as local T&E staff who are available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

T&E has an emergency protocol in place, as well as information on safety and medical situations in a different area of the website. Be sure to visit all the pages for more detailed information.

You can make international calls from fixed lines and pay phones by using calling cards (bought at local kiosks for approximately 5 Euros each) which can provide up to 6 hours of talk time in one session.

  • Wifi: Free
  • Fax Machine: Free

More Info

If you would like to be able to make calls and use your data no matter where you are, without WiFi, you have two options:

1.Contact your American cell service provider and purchase an International Plan for the time you will be abroad. International Plans are included in Tmobile´s standard plans. AT&T and Verizon offer International Plans starting at $60 a month or $10 per day.
2. While in Spain you can purchase a Spanish SIM card from an Orange or Vodafone store. Plans usually cost around €15 or $20. This is one of the most cost-efficient ways to have service while in Spain

Where is the Connection?

Each homestay and residence hall is equipped with WiFi capabilities. So, if a student brings a laptop, tablet, or smartphone, they will be able to use their devices wherever they live.

The T&E Office has computers for use that are webcam equipped so if you do not bring a laptop, tablet, or Smartphone, these resources are available during Spanish business hours. Many bars and cafes also offer free internet as well.

The Smart Way

For the purposes of communication, we suggest students download the app, Whatsapp, which is a free online texting service that enables them to converse with family and friends at home without needing to use cellular data. If you have an Apple device, iMessage will continue to function even with cellular data turned off.
